CAOL ILA
This 15 year old peat-free Caol Ila is the first to have been aged in American oak and ex-bodega in European oak, which gives a powerful whiskey with a profile typical of the Islay distillery. A whiskey with a light nose with the fruitiness of green apple and orange zest, and a firm and intense mouth that continues on a deep and warm note on the finish.Usually, Caol Ila produces extremely peaty whiskeys . However since 2005, a small batch of Caol Ila has been produced from unpeated malt. Thisparticular batch has a style that is similar to that of Highland whiskeys. Since 2006, we have therefore been able to discover a new bottling of Caol Ila that is not peated every year. This is the 13th in the series.
